What began as a simple, 10,000 square foot facility for a group of specialty physicians, turned into much more. The land (located on the property of Huntsville Hospital) was the last immediately adjacent property with highway access for easy campus access. With several stakeholders involved, the project quickly turned into an extensive ideation process for a much larger facility. To accomplish the client’s goals, significant master planning was required to shape this development. In the end, the project became a four-story building with a five-story parking deck attached to a Medical Office Building. The final development included Huntsville Hospital’s outpatient surgery department, physician office suites, physician ownership opportunities, and the hospital was able to build a bridge network over the existing 8-lane highway to connect this facility to the main hospital.
